New to me oliver

A few days ago I posted about an Oliver the bank invited me to buy.I sent my truck after it yesterday. It's probably not a 1953; its a 55 utility, diesel with goog sheetmetal. It will probably be a keeper. The tag says:250074 on one line;51339-510 on the other.Definately US built. What year and model is it? This may make me a Oliver collector.

Looks to me like it could be a 57 model. Is the fuel cap in the center of the hood or on the front of the tank under the radiator cap door?

cording to tractordata it is 1957. I just bought one a couple weeks ago 48-181 and it is also a '57 and also a diesel. This old guy owned it for 20 yrs and it was his one and only restoration project. It has had EVERYTHING rebuilt from front to rear. and has only been a mowing/snow bladeing tractor since. I have all the reciepts and a ledger with dates and costs for everything. Over $3000 in parts alone. Has the 550 sleeve/piston size. He has gotten old enough he needs power steering and he bought a new MF suburbanite loader tractor. We had a gas model back on the farm. Good luck on yours and will be watching for your posts. Maybe can help but definately can learn. RB
