We are beginning the tear down on a Hart Parr 28-44. We are to the point where we need to get the engine up and out. Are the four bolts at the bottom of the engine the only bolts needed to be removed? Or are there more? Super excited to get this behemeth back up and in the field again!

Just the 4 bolts for the engine. Clutch linkage and coupler and the 2 bolts for the water manifold to rad and one big lift out. :) enjoy your project i restored mine about 7 years ago still running strong and will go again for another 75 years. Duane o.

Awesome! Thanks for the help! I would love to see pictures of your 28-44 if you have them available to share. These old Hart Parr"s sure are interesting tractors!

do you have a hydrualic pump mounted where the starter would be? I see the drive comes from the accesory pulley. I'd be interested in some details if that is a hyd. pump if you don't mind.

Not a 28-44 but heres photo of my 99

This tractor was originally a kd tractor and has the 1 gallon gas tank still on it. My grandfather converted it to run straight gas and used the small tank as a hydraulic resevoir. He did this back in 1945 ish and it runs a chain drive off the accesory drive pulley to a shaft that runs a greyson pto pump. Even at idle it will break machenery as there is no relief valving on this one. It does sit where a starter would be on the 90-99 or high compression special of the 1937 era Duane o.
