This head gasket looks a little different than the old one. Gasket set from advantage engine parts. I just want to be sure it is correct before I reassemble.
Thanks

Well I know one thing, the head gasket you took off does not look like the original head gasket either!. I know there were at least 4 different 354 head gaskets. Why did you need to replace the head gasket?

Engine developed a miss, needed to remove cylinder head and found #3 exhaust valve seat came loose/fell out. This took place quite awhile back, finally this past winter I was able to take the head in for repair/service and am just now in the process of reassembly.

Did you buy the tractor new? Did it just have one valve seat or all six? Did it have tubes for the injectors? I think you have a 354 that is a little higher up on the ladder than a 354 out of an 1850?

Tractor was purchased used at a nearby Deere dealer about 1979 after our 1750 ventilated it's engine block. Only one exhaust seat was loose, but the machine shop ended up replacing three exhaust seats and one intake seat. He assured me valve protrusion is now within spec. No tubes for the injection nozzles. This engine to my knowledge is original to the tractor unless it was swapped in before 1979.
