Yes: Several models use Hercules built engines. The model 35, The Golden Arrow, and the 550 used a 198 cubic inch GO series. The 550 was also available with a DD 198 cubic inch diesel. The 570 and the used six cylinder Hercules engines. The 570 used a GO298 in the gas engine and a DD 298 in a diesel while the 570 used the larger DD 339H model Hercules. All the diesels were direct injection engines which kind of was ahead of the competition.

there is a 35 near me with a G3400 in it , can you tell me anything about this engine ? thanks for any information in advance . one of our rules is the make of the engine has to have been offered in the tractors .

G3400 was not offered in a cockshutt or any brand of tractor that I'm aware of.. Ive found them in gensets, combines, loaders, welders, city trasit buses. The thing is they bolt up to a 570 backing plate which works for tractors 35,40,50, and 570. There were different heads on these units some better than others. Look for the manifolds that have a runner for each valve. I know of one punched out to 450ci probally could go more. Power per cubic inch best motor out there for pulling.

Curious, which combine used a 3400 series engine? I know there was a Case combine (1100?) that used the 298 but wasn't aware of any others. Thanks!

thanks John and everyone else for your answers . I may just have to look at this tractor it's in the photo adds in Va.

For what it"s worth, I know of one D3400 that is on a ski lift in California. For emergency evacuation in the event of power failure.
