how much pressure does the factory turbo produce on the 310 in an 1855 , im guessing 5 PSI tops , next question is how much press. can you give that engine without blowing head gasket out & have too high exhaust temp. i still want a usable farm tractor not a weekend play toy , I have a holset turb off a 160 HP cummins im thinking about using on this 310 , im guessing it rus about 15 PSI under full load ,just wondering if anyone has done such a thing & the results , thanks

came off a 6BT cummins 359 ci , first version 160 HP dodge truck engine , in reply to the other post did the bigger compressor turbine make a power gain , hows it work in the field?

Put a 15 psi pressure gauge on the intake manifold, that will show you the boost pressure.
You can drill and tap for a pyro gauge in the exhaust manifold just under the turbo for checking EGT's

works just fine they made two different TO4 Air Reasearch turbos mines the later one with the narrow compressor housing. It is a easy switch and every thing stays the same for hook up.

I think that turbo will have a lot of lag, it may make tractor worse than it already is. If you don"t use a TO4 you may try a schwitzer 3lm33

A early dodge turbo was a H1C Holset. It should have a 21cm exhaust housing, too big for for a 310. If you had a 12cm housing for it (either wastegated or non-wastegated) it would work pretty well.
