Cockshutt Hydraulics

I have a few working cockshutt 30's and 40's around that have factory hydraulic pumps that run off the back side of Gov on Buda's. Have installed kits in a few of these but find that they are just too worn out and often fill my crank case full.

Has anyone found a way to build an adapter and to find a modern pump that will work?

Similar problems encounter for for 3pt control valves. I have a real nice 20 and 30 that have 3 pts. Have installed a few kits in a few of these with similar success.

Has anyone come up with a way to replace these with some modern conversion?

Love the tractors but not fond of the hydraulics.

Kits? No good at all if the underlying mechanicals are outside specification limits. I suggest you need to be returning these component parts to spec before entertaining the idea that a kit will fix all, or any, faults. Most repairs are possible though not necessarily cost effective, but returned to original specifications all items should work as that original spec.

On a gear pump the number one cause of front seal leakage is worn bushings causing too much internal pump leakage causing oil to be forced past the drain port. Do you know what size the shaft is on those pumps and also the mounting flange size? I will send you an e-mail

I have found on the kit for the 40,35,50 they give you an,o - ring and it should be a flat square ring.the 20 has a Vickers vane pump that is good just change the seal at the end.

Hi Ivan,

We have changed (from an O-Ring) to the correct original square ring that was originally used in the COCKSHUTT 35-thru-570S Hydraulic Pump Re-seal kit.
