industrial 500 series cockshutt tractors painted red?

Over the last few years I've seen a number of square nose 500 series Cockshutt tractors painted all red. Most have loaders on them. That got me to thinking. Did the factory paint them all red for industrial applications? When I say all red it seems the square nose grill was not red, being harvest gold. Just wondering if the red was factory or repaint by owners.

Well I don't know except there was a 570 Loader backhoe at the show in Ft Wayne last winter and it was yellow and was the original paint. A friend of mine had one and it was yellow and I used to have a picture of one on a piece of Cockshutt literature and it was yellow.

when the 500 series first came out 58 they were all harvest gold in 60 or 61 they switched to a red and harvest gold dubbed the red bellies hood grille fenders and rims were harvest gold rest was red just a rough description

thanks. I guess the red ones I"ve seen have been repaints. That harvest gold seemed to fade quite bad over time so maybe owners thought the red would hold up better.

Many of them were repainted red by dealers after the four digit series came out. A lot of our northern friends did not like the harvest gold and red so the repaints were all red. When Cockshutt went to harvest gold and red even those that had to paint them were not thrilled about it because of the two colors. The front of the cast frame was painted harvest gold first and then a shield was placed over it while the engine and the rest of the frame was painted red.

(quoted from post at 14:22:21 03/02/14) He asked about the industrial models not the ag models. The ones I referred to were industrial models not the common farm tractors
didn't know this was your post or that i was replying to you last i checked i could read

Dang colorblindness but this looks red to me for the Cockshutts sold through CCIL.
