Fulcrum shaft bearing

In a previous post I got the impression the bearing could be replaced without removing the injection pump. Is that correct? I have to replace the seal and am considering doing the bearing as well since I will have it open. E-mail is open.

My Super 66 was surging and changing RPMs.  I got new fulcrum shaft bearings and seal and the gasket between the governor housing and main pump.
I just took the governor housing off the back of the pump while on the engine and replaced all the parts.  Runs fine now.

The outer one I suppose you could, been a while but I think it's held by a snap ring either on the shaft in the housing. Grabbing it well enough to pull it out of the bore and off the shaft at the same time will be the challenging part.

The pump or housing will have to come off the engine to get to the inner bearing.

Best to remove the cover and the plug on the back side. Then remove the snap ring next to the bearing, and tap the shaft out. The other bearing snap ring is much harder to remove on the seal side. Best to replace both bearings anyway if needed. Be careful and save the aluminum plug PG 901 as last I knew it is no longer available.
