Super 55 warning light

I was under the impression that they didn't put warning lights on until the changeover to the 550. But I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time.

Mike.. it's in my parts book. The part number is actually 1K-7361-F for my 12 volt diesel. The 6 volt were 1K-7361-E. I have never seen one, so they were probably an option.

(quoted from post at 18:53:52 02/18/14) Does anyone have a Super 55 with a warning light on it? If you have one, could you post a picture please.
If you go to oliver photos in this forum. Go about 10 pages in looking for. Mike Thompson CA. 1957 super 55. Its my tractor with a warning light mounted on fender. I'm in the middle of moving so I can't get you better pic right now. What were you looking for.

I had never seen one, and doubt if I will ever see one for sale. So I
was looking to "fake" one. The pictures in parts book and manual
show the light cord wrapped around it, so I don't know what the
mount looks like. I know the front lens is amber and the rear red.
Just wanted to see more detail.
I remember seeing that tractor of yours somewhere before. It has a
high heat powder coat on the exhaust if I remember.

My friend has one that he is going to install on his super 55. Here is the idea: using the optional 2 wire outlet plug that was mounted on his, you have the warning light, cord and male plug on cord that fits the tractor outlet. Light assembly has the smv wedge on it, and his tractor fender has the smv bracket bolted to it. His will not be original, but I think there is a pic of it in his operator's manual. On this forum in Nov or early Dec 2013 one of our members posted the pics of the light he was selling. He called it a smv warning light, and it was sold on internet I think his handel on here is riverslim. Look it up the pics would help you make one. Good Luck.

Oh, THAT kind of warning light. LOL. I was thinking of "idiot" lights in place of gauges. S55 has individual gauges, 550 has 2 gauges and 2 idiot lights in a pod the same size as the tach, on the other side of the dash.

Someone is going to do some head scratching someday over my 550D. I found a power steering setup on a Super 55 in a salvage yard, and bought it. I couldn't get either steering wheel off without ruining them, so I just put the whole kit and caboodle on the 550, including the S55 dash. I like gauges better than idiot lights, anyhow.

BTW, if anyone ever finds a power steering outfit to put on their S55 or 550, BE SURE to get the oil filter base and the dash insert where the ignition switch is located, off the donor tractor. Oil filter base is offset to clear the power steering pump on the back of the generator, and dash insert is flat rather than indented, to make room for the larger power steering gear at the base of the steering column.
