Trans Lube Pump

Do 1655/2-70's have the chain driven transmission lube pumps like the 2-85's? Friends chain fell off and went through the works.....Ron
 
Yes & No. Later 1655 models do, early ones do not. I used to have problems with a few farmers each year that would not check transmission oil level and they would run them low and when they were plowing the pump would not pick up oil and tie up the top shaft. Everyone maybe after the first one or two I would install a light on the dash to let them know if the oil pump was not pumping
 
Mike:A light, a sender and some fittings and electrical work. I have not worked for a dealer since 1976, you expect me to remember all that stuff!
 
Sorry, just looking for some basics especially on the sender unit. Would a normal sender that Ford used on their engines for the lights work? I don't recall seeing anything as to how much pressure this system normally puts out. I have had two tranys go bad and this makes sense to do.
