I'm looking at an 1950 E3 to buy next week and I always liked the looks of the rear wheel centers on them and the Cockshutt 30 with the way the edges are cut or notched [ best I know to describe it ] anyway these are not made like them,[ just my bad luck ] so can anyone tell me whats the deal, early or late models, when was they changed?

(quoted from post at 19:25:44 02/14/14) I'm not aware of any changes. I have a '46, a '50 and a '51 E4. All use the same one. The rims are different. Can you post a picture?

Post a picture, i am in dire need of rear rims, if there what im looking for Ill buy them from you

this was mine just before the tear down, dont have a real good one in the ipad of the wheels.

Ok let me see if this picture will work, I'm am talking about the center looking different, where center bolts to the rim, not the rim.

I guess the rims are different also, the other centers that I was asking about has 8 bolts that bolts to the rim, this one doesn't look to have that many, I haven't got the tractor yet so I cant look at it. Thanks

I'm no pro on this but the rims look correct, the wheel (center) looks like maybe from an Oliver? The lugs that you refer to (8 of them) can be bought seperate and riveted on or welded on to a new rim. looks like this person got the right rim and welded a different center to them. Not sure on that though.

Thanks everyone for the help, maybe there no rhyme or reason they used both of them, if you google Cockshutt 30 or Co-op E3 pictures looks like most have the centers different then the ones on the picture I posted, a few has the same, I don't know if they use the same rim or not.

I was just thinking it may have been a year model change.

The E3s were available with either the pressed steel rims, like yours has, or the eight bolt centers with rims, like you were referring to.

It just hit me, I was looking at this same tractor on craigslist the other day. Look closely, they may not be correct, I also noticed that the builder put the decals in the wrong spot as well as he/she have 2 right side decals... in other words the ones that are on the left are totally wrong (mirrored) may want to consider that in your offer, Being me, I would definitely have to fix that.

Thanks Krm, just curious does anyone know why they offered both, I would think that they would have been a reason, maybe different thread width? just guessing.

I agree 100%, that looks funny, dont know what happened there, I will be looking to find the correct decals for it.

The wheels you have were on some model 40 and 50 Cockshutts. I have an e4 with those wheels. If you look it seems these have welds where the center and rims join. Probably old centers on new or different rims. I have never saw a 30 with that style rim, as they had a more narrow tire than the 40 and 50. The style for the e3 and 30 they call a loop type rim as it has bolt loops that are part of the rim and bolt to the center plate at the rim. That same wheel would fit on many other brand tractors. The part number for the wheel you have is TGO-9715 and is in my e4 parts list. It might have also been used on 30 and e3, but I have not seen it. Yours are clearly welded, but if they work, who cares? Looks good to me.

Well it ended up not making any difference on the centers, drove 801 miles to look at this so-called one owner, always sheded, nicely restored tractor, NOT any of the above, 7hrs one way and it took maybe 10 seconds to see I screwed up, 2 minutes I was back on the road, live and learn, lol.

Just curious, what was wrong with it?

It was pitted really bad all over, except maybe the tank, probably been changed, rear centers welded to the rims, been repaired around valve,[ was told they was good ] body work and paint well I think it would have looked better if it wasnt done, and I was told that this was a one owner, kept in, with low hrs, nicely restored, but I didn't spend much time looking at it, as I seen enough by the time I got to the hood,I was a little upset and didn't want to say anything wouldn't do any good to, so about two minutes I was going back south.

The ones in Indy seem to be pretty solid platforms for projects. But them again the one you went to look at also looked good.
