What is the correct hub color on the streamline and fleetline Oliver series with red wheels? I have seen them painted green like the rest of the tractor or red like the wheels. I would assume at the factory they painted the tractor without the wheels, so the hubs would be body color, but would like to know for sure. Thanks

For the most part the rear hubs and small front hubs were green. The large front hubs were red.
That said,it's rumored that from time to time if they had kids working at the factory for the summer and they didn't have anything to do,they might have handed them a paint brush and sent them out to paint hubs red. At least that's the story that's told.

My 88 came out in 1949...my Grandpa bought it new. It had the rear axle and hub painted red and the front hub face side was also red. The inside though was green.
Today, I see them different ways based upon the likes of the owner.

What I have learned is that Oliver and many others of that era really did not paint two exactly the same. Paint was mixed by hand so tints were different...decal placement may be different...and as was stated here...they may have sent kids out with a paintbrush to paint too.
