O. K. The super 88 tractors went to key start in April of 1957. Does any one have an early Super 88 made in 57 that has the red wheels from the factory or even the small lights. My employer has a Super made in December of 56 it has none of the changes but did they build any Super 88 tractors between January 1 of 57 till April of 57? Just asking, inquiring minds want to know. There was at least one production run of super 88's with red wheels and the 6 volt push button electrial system. My brother has one and when I lived in Michigan, I had a neighbor that had one.

Several years ago I had the build card info. on that tractor but I later gave it to my brother. If I remember right, His was shipped to the Columbus, Ohio branch. I don't know the serial number now, and I can't get any more info as he's at the farm show in Louisville for thw next several days.

My brother has a super 88 with the push start and red wheels. It"s a 1957 model and has the hydraulic side hill draw bar. My Dad bought this tractor new in 1957. I"m not sure of the month we got it but I do remember it was warm. The tractor is in Maryland and I"m in Iowa so I can"t check the serial number right now. If interested in the serial number, I can call and try to get it. I don"t thin k today because of snow.

I own a 1956 duper diesel , mechanical starter , not sure how to tell what month it's built . I checked the serial # on this site and there is no indication of the month built ? -- love my olie

My dad"s Super 88 had the red wheels and the kick starter. I believe it also had the smaller lights but I am not sure about that. I don"t know date of birth but it was before the key start came out.

Dad had a Super 88 and pull type plow delivered in March 1957. Tractor had a diesel engine. It had red wheel centers. The starter was a kick starter above the clutch pedal. Don't remember size of headights. Tractor traded off 7 yrs later with 4000 hrs on it, nary a wrench on it. No way to know the serial number. Delivery was to IN.

Well my service bulletin said April is when the key start model were put in to production. Those late diesels are a good horse.
