Can you identify?

Can anyone identify this tachometer? It is stamped #158258A on the case. It was on a 770 Oliver but seems to be from something else. This one has the hours above the needle. The correct one has the hours below? Any help greatly appreciated!

That tach is off of a 550, although it looks very similar to the one on my 1965 770. It depends on the age of your 770 whether it will be like this or just a tachourmeter.

or if it has a power booster ,the speeds will show direct or pbd.

Look at where the rated PTO speeds are.

This one has a 1000rpm PTO speed on it, I question if it is off a smaller tractor. I know nothing about it, but have that question. someone please post back.

This is on my 550. 1975 vintage. I have a 1958 770 that is different. Have no idea what a later 770 looks like.

What about a 550 with the 540 X 1000 rpm reversible gear box with two shafts? Did you ever see/sell one? I have see them, but never used one, so I don't know if they ran at different engine speeds.

   In the parts book for the 550, there are four different part numbers for the tach.  All four part numbers sub forward to #158 258A.
