Oliver 1855 fluid leak

New to the site. I have an 1974 Oliver 1855 Diesel. While I was prepping for a total frame paint job, I power washed the complete frame and areas. My power washer also has a hot water feature for grease. Ever since I washed the tractor I am having a leak develop somewhere under the seat area/ lift arms for the 3 point hitch. Never had a leak up till the washing.
My question is this,, could I have created a leak on a gasket by power washing? Maybe the dirt and grease, sealed up some areas. Just curious.

Yes the high pressure could have forced foreign material under the seal lip on a rockshaft seal or possibly/but not likely, damaged a gasket. You will need to look for the source of the leak so you know what to fix.

A High Pressure Washer can Chip Concrete block at around 2000 PSI I have been told, & will peel paint well before that. I can only imagine what it would do to some gaskets.

Well at least it"s clean. I have been looking but it is tough to find. The leak is not so much a drip but a sheen that is around the area under the seat in the hydro unit that the lift arm for the links comes out. I looked in the parts manual and that unit has about 5 or 6 gaskets in it. Funny thing is that it leaks AFTER the tractor is shut off. And not all the time eirther. Your suggestions is still valid. I have to track it down.

I hear you on that. I was careful around electrical and valves and small parts, but on the frame, wheels and the entire 3 point hitch area,, I was really blasting to get the crud and rock hard grease softened up and washed off.
The crud may have been acting as a sealer itself and now I angered it and opened up some spots. Cant do much now as it is 3 degrees here in Michigan and I am not fooling with it but come Spring I will have to track it down.

Just a suggestion... they make a dye that you add to the oil that you use a black light to find small leaks..this my be you trick..at you auto parts store..also avaible for coolent leaks

thank you very much. I think I will wait till warmer spring weather and gently wash down the areas again and see what I can find. right now it not a one or two place leak. Its almost like an overall oil coating coming from under the seat area in the housing for the hydro oil. Where the arms or links attach to the piston moving the 3 point hitch up and down.

Here is another thought for someone out there to send me an opinion on. Regarding my oil leak on the Hydro unit,, would a plugged or very dirty breather element be a contributing factor? The hydro unit, under the driver seat, has a filtered vent on top of the case. If this element is plugged or very dirty, would it or could it cause higher internal pressure in the case and cause blow by of fluid due to hight pressure? I know on my brush hog, it blew out the seal due to the crankcase did not have a vent on the top and with the internal heat came expansion and pressure. I am replacing the filter anyway but an opinion would be great. thank you in advance.
