PTO PINION SHAFT

1800-A WE HAD THE MAIN DRIVE SHAFT PULLED BACK TO DO A CLUTCH...NOW THE MAIN 1000 RPM PINION SHAFT WILL NOT GO BACK IN...ENOUGH TO INSTALL THE BEARING CAP & SEAL....THERE ARE SPLINES ON THE END OF THE SHAFT.THE PARTS BOOK SAID..THAT POSSIBLE GO INTO THE CLUTCH DISC???? QUESTION:COULD A DISC HAVE DROP DOWN ENOUGH TO KEEP IT FROM GOING BACK TOGETHER . I TRYED TURNING AND TAPING ON IT..NO GO
YES WE DID PLAY WITH THE PTO LEVER WHILE WORKING ON IT.
 
my son removed the rear bearing cap,for the 1000 rpm shaft...he removed the snap ring and spacer and sliding back the drive shaft...there was crap in the 1000 rpm splins which made the gear come out of the pto disc...because the bearing cap was not in place to hold it together...he should have not removed the bearing cap for the 1000 rpm shaft.misstakes made..now to fix..

TO DAY IS A BETTER DAY...YEEE HAAAA....
WITH A LITTLE PATIENCE...I PUT A LITTLE PRESSURE ON THE PTO LEVER HOLDING IT BACK WITH BAILING TWINE..SLIGHT DRAG ON DISC,TO HOLD THEM IN PLACE WHILE WITH A LONG SCREW DRIVER AND MAG LIGHT AND MY BYFOGEL GLASSES LINE UP MY EYES TO SEE,I MOVED THE CLUTCH DISC TO LINE UP TO THE OUTER CUP SLOTS FOR THE OUTER DISC TABS.NOW THAT THEY LOOK CLOSE I WIGGLED THE SHAFT AND IT WENT INTO THE DISC,,YEEE HAAAA..HURRY TO PUT THE BEARING CAP BACK ON BEFORE THET JUMP OUT..HA.. HA ..ALL SMILES TO DAY THANKS
