Loader Question - bear with my ignorance

Landed an Oliver 1610 (shwartz) for my 1650. Will be getting it Saturday. Planning to repaint to match the 1650 and replace hoses.

1st question - would you switch typical controls to joy stick? Why or why not?

2nd question - On the vertical posts just fwd. of operators station the holes are egg-holed. Would you spend money to weld them up and line bore?

My old back hoe had egg-holes on the dipper stick but since used for stumping only I did not line bore.

I went to the power-beyond on my 1655 for loader and wished I had done it sooner. The loaders work fine on the tractor remotes when set up correctly but the power-beyond is wonderful.

I'd use the power beyond and get a joystick. Using the 2 remotes will work, but you can't feather them, so its harder to do fine work with the loader.

I just had conventional 2 spool Greisen valve on my 1550, but now have a Kubota with joystick, and I sure like it better.

So something like this? Not sure if I really can plumb in a grapple but sure would be handy.
