have an 1855 , has a starter weight on front that has a slite curve to it & a groove for what id say is for suitcase weights to hook in , did these tractors use suitcase weights , flat weights or the stackable weights like the older models did , it looks to be original and has definitly been there for a long time if not from new , & if it is for suitcase weight, what weights will fit it , sorry i dont have a picture but tractor is jammed in shed with all equipment i could get in due to this alaskan wheather we've been getting here , thanks for all help

THE PROPER WEIGHT FOR THAT TRACTOR HAS THE HANDLE TOP AND BOTTOM SAME AS THE MOLINE WEIGHT HARD TO FIND THE ORIGINALS, WE MAKE THEM IN IRON OR ALUMUNIM 8 WEIGHTS FIT ON THAT BASE

J meyer seems to know a lot about those weights, and he buys/sells them too. If the bracket is the right color and doesn't seem to stick out farther than seems right, it's probably the correct one for the tractor.

Thanks for the plug Don- they are getting hard to
find, they command a pretty firm price too. I left
my email open if you'd like to drop me a line with
further questions, etc.

I have a complete set of weights on my Oliver 1855. I have 2 iron slab weights and 2 stacking weights.

They all bolt together and heavy as heck. I know as i took them all off to blast them for paint on one of the square plate weights tipped and fell on the corner of my foot.
Two of the weights look like s loaf of bread and stack on top of each other towards the grill. Then there are 2 long 3/4 inch bolts that bolt into the front frame and the 2 plate weights sit on those bolts. I think the whole set up adds about 552 pounds. The show up in the parts manual.
