99 OLIVER PARTS

There is very little of anything for the old tractors now. Best bet is getting a parts tractor and spending a lot of time and fuel checking every lead you hear of. Thats the joy or curse of getting and keeping this old iron going. Duane o.

well these tractors are in the odd ball catagory. they range from the big 4 cylinder gas motors that no one makes parts for and when they switched to the 6 cylinders they were big wet sleeve engines that you can never find parts for, and the supers introduced the Jimmy's which involves a different company to provide parts. then the brakes are an odd size and the bull gears are so big and designed so much differently than the 66-88 that there really is no way to justify making these special parts.

The 6 cylinder 99 tractors and the 3-71 Detroit engines all had dry sleeves not wet sleeves. The 4-53 Detroit used in the 1900 - 1950 tractors had wet sleeves.

not sure which 99 your refering to not like it really matters but like others said they're odd, I have an old 4 cyl 99, I live in south central MN and made a road trip down into Iowa for parts. It can be worse though. Just be prepaired for some leg work. I will say the finished product makes it all worth while.

Looks like this was a bad purchase. What I have is the 6 cylander diesel. The engine is frozen and it is hard to tell what else it may need.
Thanks to all for your comments.

Yes the 302 oliver is very hard to get parts for. I sold a 53 99 gas that was complete but was seized and needed a manifold setup. Got it unsiezed no problem just took some time and wd 40 and diesel in the cylinders.Found rings and valves and small odds and ends but sold it to buy a super 99 diesel and 990 gm.

You should be able to find some parts I have a 99 diesel parts engine maybe two.Its the same block as the Massey 1100 gasser which ain't too common but some around. If sleeves are worn you should be able to remove the sleeves and use MF pistons will increase the cubic inches. also those engines had a lot of industrial applications. You need to tear it down and see what parts you really need probably not as bad as you think. You could also bolt in a different Oliver engine.
