Agco White 6065 Tractor (Cold Weather Use Issues)

Any time we try to use our White 6065 loader tractor in the winter when the temperatures are real cold, it usually won't lift the loader, steer, etc. The hydraulic system makes a whinning noise as if the pump is starved of oil. We have checked all oil levels and everything is good. If you let the tractor run for nearly an hour then everything will start to slowly function properly. We only seem to have this issue in cold weather. What could be causing this? Any help would be appreciated.

What are you using for hydraulic oil? The oil is much to heavy and it is taking an hour to warm up. If you are using the oil they recommend by your OM then you need to change it to a thinner hydraulic oil from JD, CaseIH or TSC, etc..

We are using Shell TD hytran oil. This is what is in all our other tractors and I would hate to start mixing oils.
The other tractors don't seem to have any trouble.
I should add that this tractor is stored in a storage shed with no insulation so yes it is experiencing the outside temperatures but it isn't out in the elements.
Just seems like a terrible system in cold weather. Has anyone else experienced this?

I will agree change your oil, as said its to thick and its taking that hour or so to warm up.

I agree with the other posts in that the oil is too heavy. The place that I drove for had hydraulics on the trucks, and in the Winter they anyways changed to a light weight hydraulic oil..

Dump out a gallon or 2 gallons of you oil, and dump in atf fluid. I have to do that every year to thin out the oil in my tractor.

Just a question does this tractor have a suction screen before the pump. If it does it could be partially plugged and with the cold oil not allow it to flow properly but when warmed up it flows okay. Not all systems have a screen but just a thought.

Check your owners manual and check to make sure you are running the right oil-we had the same problem different tractor and was running hyd oil and was supposed to be a 10 weight oil-it also had a metal filter screen like the previous guy said it was also plugged a little too. Once we changed the oil and the cleaned the screen it worked like it did when it was new.

It is an AGCO loader and I can't recall the model number off the top of my head. I have seen them with Frey loaders as well as some other brands.
