To farm with or to use it to go pull? Just because it is a 354 Perkins does not mean that all 354 Perkins are alike on the inside. It is your money

Yes, my uncle did it to his 1850 everyone will say the 354s are different and don't take a turbo unless in the 2-105 but his old 1850 lasted fine. he had it and my neighbor had it up until a few years ago which it had a turbo over 25 years and trouble free, when he traded it off and it was still running just fine. And it was used by my neighbor to plant, bail and disc. And a little over 4000hrs later.

yes, but don't go crazy with it. Use the extra HP to do the work you now do easier or faster. If you increase the workload, IE, bigger disk or field cultivator or larger mower conditioner and work the snot out of it, you will have problems.
Example, you now pull a 14' disk in 3rd direct. you can pull the same disk faster, OK. OR, now you have lots more power, so you get a 18' disk and work it hard, Not OK. Just my opinion. Chris

yes, i d do it too. just pull the same implements in the same gears that you do now.....the end result will be way better economy and you WILL NOT kill the motor.
