on the back of the rockshaft housing on my 2-135 is a male pioneer coupler. nothing hooked to it. whats it's purpose?

Could have been a case drain line at one time.

When using a hydraulic motor, say for a knife sharpener on a forage harvester. That fitting allowed unrestricted flow of oil back into the resevoir. Helped keep the oil from heating.

Gary: This tractor more than likely has an air planter behind it. The return from the blower motor needs to be unrestricted when shut off. When the hydraulic valve furnishing oil to the motor is stopped, now the motor becomes a pump driven by the motion of the fan wheel as it slows down. If it does not have a path for oil flow generated by the motor (return to valve would be blocked) the motor is suddenly stopped and it can twist off the shaft to the fan wheel.
