Restoring a 1952 Oliver 77. Are the front hubs painted green or red. I have the front rims and hub painted red. Know looking on the internet I see some painted green and some red. Does the year of the tractor determine the color or is it the restorers preference.

Chuck mine are the heavy front hubs also. So I think I will leave these painted red. Thanks for the responses.

Paul, The rear hubs and axles were also red from the factory. Myself and a lot of other people paint both the front and rear hubs green because we prefer that look and is a lot easier to do. Merry Christmas, Chuck

I think the bulk were green, but it's rumored that they hired kids at the factory in the summer and if they weren't busy, they might be sent out with some red paint and a brush to paint hubs.

Here's my 51 though. It was original when I got it and they were green. I'll be honest,I've never seen an original Fleetline with red hubs.
