Need to remove engine on my 1550 diesel to replace sprockets and chain. Can I just move engine ahead or I have been told I need to remove a long shaft from the rear . service manual gives no help on this process please help

If it has the 540 PTO like this one, just take the 4 bolts out of the bottom of the cast cover on the back. Then in behind the clutches there are three 3/8ths bolts(9/16ths wrench). Take them out around that bearing flange. You might have to get a screwdriver in behind that flange, then pop it loose and slide the shaft right out clutch pack and all.

I decided to buy that 1550 after all. There seemed to be something missing from the ends of the lift arms. Could you send some pictures of what they should look like, also what should hold the top link up when not in use.
