CO-OP E3 Questions

Had some questions about my 1947 Co-Op E3. First, my trans/rear end fluid needs changed, what is the capacity of the trans/rear end/underdrive unit? And is it ok to use hytrans fluid instead of gear oil, it's just a stock class puller.
Second, it has recently began to steer rather hard, is there anything I should look at in particular to solve this?
Third, is there anything tricky to removing the hydrolics and pto? And finally, does anybody have any free/cheap tricks to get some extra power out of this engine?

My dad has a 52' i think, its a later model after they beefed up the rear hubs. Hes pulled it since he bought it almosr 40 years ago. Hes got high comp pistons, he used to run a 560 farmall carb on it too. And a hot ignition. Other than that you can take a couple ball weights out of the govenor. But he doesnt even have that. He rarely gets beat in 4k lb class. Id say just keep her tuned up good. Best trick in the book.
