Oliver 770 Vegetable Tractor??

So i bought a 770 oliver tractor today, not running. Guy we bought this from said it was a "Vegetable tractor" and said it had a reverser in the transmission. I guess i didnt know what he was talking about until today - i got it running and it has four reverse gears and four forward gears... all on the normal shift stick. It has 3 reverses, one forward on the low side and 3 forwards, one reverse on the high side. The reverse gears are R1 R2 R3 R4 also, they're all different speeds. Same with the forwards.

Anyone know anything about this? Anyone know how rare it is? Thank you!

The four speed foward / four speed reverse was an option on the fleetline, Super series and the 660 & 770 tractors. They were sold to customers that needed that feature in a tractor.

As far as being some what rare, yes they are. As far as being disirable? Not so much.

Any way to determine how many 770s were built this way? Serial number variation?

This one does NOT have the veggie axles, but i was told that was also an option?

Just checking but that transmission was available in 2 different speed combinations. For fun why not post both the serial and the specification number. J.
