Ollie 1650 stuck in ? gear

For a friend of mine I said I would post; he has an Oliver diesel 1650 with the shift-on-the-go Hydraul-Shift. Working on it last weekend, he discovered it was stuck in gear; clutch in or out, it made no matter. Fortunately he got the tractor shut down before stricking anything in his new pole shed. Could someone shed light on his predicament? Thanks in advance.

That has to be a clutch problem, not the hydrapower or transmission. It has a dry clutch ahead of the hydrapower unit. Sounds to me like the same thing that happened to my 1600 last year. The fingers wore off the pressure plate and the throw out bearing went right through it.

On our 1855 the tube in there collapsed or wore out. Same thing, the pedal didn't do anything.

Come to think of it,the fork on the throw out bearing broke in my 1550 one time. Either way,the engine will have to be lifted out and the hydrapower will have to come off.

Just this summer, I had to change the pressure plate in my 1650. One of the adjuster bolts broke. The rebuilt unit was put in there in March. The seller would not warrant the unit, as "those bolts break". I got a diaphram type from HyCapacity.
