clutch sticking. am going to split tractor. how do you determine if rear main seal is leaking ? when replacing seal is rope or lip better ?

First of all you don't split the tractor for any clutch work. Look on the front side of the flywheel and in the rear seal area to see if oil is leaking past the seal. Rope or lip type. I am not sure if you can switch from style to the other nor do I know if the hub on the crankshaft is the same for both seals.
