What's the market like for a parts/restoration candidate tractor? I picked up what I'm pretty sure is a late 20's (sn 25688) model 'W' (based on 3 lower track rollers and general design) project tractor this weekend. Supposedly it was running some ~20 years ago but had some sort of a problem with the left final drive (guy says bearing but I'm not sure) so the track and final drive was removed for repair and it never got put back together. Looks like it's pretty much complete and in reasonable shape, though the steering wheel is busted and the magneto cover and plug wires are missing.

Originally I was thinking of trying to get it running but I don't think I have the time or money at the moment so I'm looking to sell it - what's a reasonable price for this thing, and any ideas on where to advertize it?

Thanks,
~John

Finally got the rest of the parts for this girl and checked her out a bit....

Cletrac 'W' SN 25668. Tractor was reportedly purchased by the folks I got it from around 1990 after sitting for 20+ years. They got it running with a minimum of work but discovered a bad rear sprocket bearing and took it apart for that and radiator repair. Subsequently it got pushed on the back burner and forgotten about.

It appears to be about 95% complete and most parts look in decent condition. The left final drive pinion, bearing and bearing mount/seal are missing, as is the right vertical section of the hood. Radiator core has some damage but appears to the repairable. The magneto back and plug wires are missing. There may be internal parts missing as well, I've no idea what to look for on these.

The engine turns over freely though it feels like it may not have compression - I'd bet it'll start if you fix the magneto. Right side track was rolling when I moved it though I'm sure it could use so penetrating oil. It looks like several of the link pins on the left side track are missing but I thing all the links are there.
