Oliver engine number

I acquired an Oliver 60 and I think it has a different block in it than the original. Where can I find the number to identify which engine is in it? Thanks, Dan

I found a data plate on the engine with the serial number 609833. Anybody know what this engine is. The cylinders measure 3.62 in. and the piston is 3.59 in. Thanks for any help.

Well I think I've figured this out myself. It appears I have a 1944 Oliver 60 that someone has bored out to take 770 pistons.

Well if they are 770 pistons someone bushed the rods. What is the length of stroke? A 770 piston has a 1.250 pin, the 60 has a .975 pin.

I was wrong again J. The piston diameter is the same as a 1550. I really don't know what the stroke is yet. Do you know the standard length of the 60 rod? I appreciate any help you can give me. I've done a lot of work on Molines, but don't know much about Olivers.

Well J this is gettin weirder all the time. I measured the rod that came out of the engine and it is 6.75 in. center to center. The same size as a 1550. Yet the engine is a four cylinder with a 60 data plate on it. The plate doesn't look like it has been altered. It has 3 rivets in it and they look original. But, there is clear evidence that the frame has been altered to fit the engine block. I have no clue what I have here. Any ideas?

You may have a 550 engine in the tractor. Do you have any casting numbers on the block. What is the diameter of the bore for the rod bearing and the pin busing for the rod you have + the forging number on the rod? A 60 rod would be 160 007 or 160 107 do not remember which.

How is the oil filter attached to the engine, tilted out from the engine or straight out @ 90 degrees? Do you have a 550 engine in a 60? You could also measure the distance between the block to frame mounting bolts. Are there any cast numbers near the starter on the left side? HTH.

To Dick & J, the casting on the block is 180220. The oil filter is a screw on type on the right side of the block and goes straight up. Thanks, Dan.

My 66 block has that number and L-100, and no place to install a tech drive under the distributor. My other 4 cylinders have that number and L-100 with a letter on the end and do have the square pad to install a tach drive under the distributor .

The forging number on the rod is 180007. Wrist pin bore on the piston is 1-1/8" and the crank bore is 2-1/8". Any ideas what we have here guys?

180 007 is a rod for a Fleetline 66 or 77. Pin size is 1.250 not 1.125. Like Dick asked did you get anymore casting numbers off the block>

There are no other numbers cast onto the block. Would it help if I took a picture or 2 of the block and installation. if so, let me know what specifically you want to see and I'll get them for you.
