With pto engaged bushhog gets up to speed. When it first hits the grass it slows down (no cut). Sooo, what's my problem/fix? Read on another post something about using a 12 inch screwdriver to adjust the clutch (pto)? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You Phillip wood

Your PTO has a clutch that is engaged by hydraulic pressure. You should check the linkage going to the PTO control valv and make sure it goes into the detent position. Does the tractor have an aftermarket cab?

a pressure reducing valve sends oil to a manifold block on top of transmission cover. this block has the brakes & pto control valve supply hooked to it. do your brakes seem to have enough pressure? I dont think there is an adjustment on the pto clutch pack. you simply supply oil pressure to it or you dont. someone with more info will chime in after a while!!
