White trans?

I found a Deutz DX 8.3 which is listed as having several of the lower gears not working. It has a 584CI 220 hp Deutz engine and looks clean. I have heard that it could have a White trans, a Funk trans, and a ZF trans. It is 18F 6 R, was just wondering if it is a trans that could be fixed or swapped with one from another tractor. I have lots of deutz tractors, but nothing this big.

Is this the tractor that kramers have? If it is a friend of mine used to own it. I know it is not a white trans.

Not to many of them in the US. Kind of rare I would say. Tractor doesn't have the White 3 speed in it like the Deutz Allis 9100 series tractors. Looking a pictures on the internet looks like it has the ZF transmission.(powermatic) Could be the old Steyr transmission. Did you look at the tractor in person?

I think that tranny was made by Steyr. Expensive to repair. White trans and rear ends came in with the 9100 series

No, I was just browsing and I saw it. We have two Whites and seven Deutz tractors and I was kind of hoping this was a cross between the two with the excellent Deutz engine and the rugged White-Oliver drivetrain. In other words, the 9100 series. We had a DX 6.5 that had a trans go bad which ate up about $10000 in repairs so I am not interested anymore.
