gear speeds available to 550

Does the 550 go slow enough to do various tasks that require rather slow speeds, like tilling, for instance? 3 speeds seem very limited in low range or does the throttle setting allow plenty of speed choices?

things. What size tires do you have? Next are thelast 3 numbers of the serial number 519? I do need tire sizes to start with. I have a table but it goes with tires sizes.

Speaking generally, IMHO, the standard 550 gearing is not slow enough for good rototilling or other low speed operations. I've done it, but you have to make multiple passes, and restrict the depth. Its kind of hard on the equipment, too- always trying to take too big a "bite".
