Oliver 1550 leaks

I recently picked up a 1550 diesel. It's my first Oliver and I think it's a great tractor. After mowing hay with it I realized that there is a fuel leak at what I think is the fuel return line fitting to the injection pump. I can't just tighten the fitting because the copper line will kink. My question is whether I can remove the line at the fitting and tighten the fitting and/or seal it with tape? Is it pressurized? Do I have to bleed the high pressure side when done?
Also, is replacing the oil pan gasket pretty straight forward?

You said: My question is whether I can remove the line at the fitting and tighten the fitting and/or seal it with tape? Yes you can. Don't get too carried away! Those aluminum covers can crack! Is it pressurized? A couple of pounds. Do I have to bleed the high pressure side when done? NO
Also, is replacing the oil pan gasket pretty straight forward? Yes: There are 2 bolts behind the little plate.

Thank you, cracking the cover definitely sounds like something I would have done if not for your advice. I'll probably do the gasket in the fall.
