Hi everyone is their anyone out their running those keystone turbo kits on their Ollie's? I have read everything on the web site and it all makes since about the increase n pressure n load on the engine. I'm lookin maybe to turbo my 77 for use and I pull some every now and then. More work than play tho. I was jus wondering if anyone is useing one for their ollies. Wondering if anyone is havin n problems or trouble out of their kit.

Remember what happened to the 1855 when they turned up the wick a little over a naturally aspirated 310 and put a turbo on without proper oil cooling?

KABOOM!

The best way to increase in cylinder temp and pressure is by adding boost......even if you don't add extra fuel. Your engine might take it for short bursts, but long durations? You're rolling the dice.

What I understand the problem with the 310 was a casting issue with the block. I know I have read that some 310 blocks where used n the 1755 that didn't pass Olivers test for the the 310 blocks that were going to be turboed. My cousin had a 1955 that start having issues the problem was actually a oil pressure issue to the turbo. If u stop and think if you bore and stroke a 6 cylinder that turns 4 5 or 6 grand with high compression piston does that not put close too or probably more stress on the engine components and block than what a exhaust driven turbo would?

i own an 1855 with a 310T engine , never heard of a block problem , ( at least not till the rod goes though the side ) oil cooling is its biggest problem even with an oil cooler on it , oil capacity was another issue too, early models had faulty rod bolts ( 6 pointed ) upgraded one are 12 point , and i think early ones could also brake crakshafts, all do to adding the turbo & not thinking of the added heat, but i will say it turned out to be a powerfull smooth running engine after they worked out the bugs. most people run from them because of the early problems but ill put mine against any equal (john deere) and it will kill it , sorry for that cuss word on here , and the 310 will start in the winter unlike that cuss word
