S77 Starter problems

Super 77 with a 1600 motor, im having problems with a my starter not being able to turn the warmed up motor easily. Where could I find a gear reduction starter or do you think rebuilding this one would handle the motor? any suggestions?

What happened to the 1600 starter? Have you checked your voltage drop?

Taking it to the starter repair place to get it checked out then going from there.

I have an 1850 gas and it is the same starter as the 77 and 88's. It should turn over that 1600 motor fine. Either your start needs to rebuilt or you need new and bigger battery cables.

Also, check out your charging circuit - as this only occurs when the engine has been running. You may be overcharging the battery and the cells are gassing excessively or there may be a poor cell or one or more cells are low on electrolyte.
