1850 Engine Block

Rebuilding an 1850. Perkins 354 with dry sleeve. Found a crack in the block. The crack is inside one of the cylinder holes, near the bottom where the cylinder bore meets the meat of the block right above the crankshaft main bearings. The crack runs horizontal. Anybody ever welded one up? Or is it scrap metal now?

Do you have the block out of the tractor? Have you either wet particled magned the block or at least magnifluxed the block to see if the crack goes into the main bearing area? Is the crack long enough that it gets into the waterjacket? Need more details.

Consider it scrap.

Just curious, would you happen to have that block still? I am looking for an auxiliary drive for an 1850 after ser# 354u78914.
Thank you
