Purchased 1550 with 3 point that doesn't lift.Power steering and front end loader hydraulics work fine. Found self leveling linkage disconnected, hooked
it back up and still 3 point won't lift? Relief
valve on right side is closed as the loader has dual
action cylinders. Did not mess with this other than to verify bit is closed.

You said: Found self leveling linkage disconnected, hooked
it back up and still 3 point won't lift? I have no idea what you are talking about but did someone back out the bypass screw? This lets the fluid to escape from the 3 point and it will not lift. Also if the elbow for the 3 point cylinder safety valve broke you 3 point will also not function. Check the bypass valve first. You do have an operators manual correct?

He posted this on T-Talk the other day John. He says the bypass screw is in. I think what he's talking about when he says self leveling linkage is the draft control linkage on the left side. They were external on the 1550s

Yes, you are correct the proper term is "draft control" Sorry I have always referred to it as a self leveling control. I do have all the manuals
for this unit and did read up on the relief valve
section. I did verify that it is indeed turned
all the way in clockwise (closed). I did not open it up for fear of messing up the loader hydraulics.
I did note that I was unable to move the draft control linkage by hand that I found unhooked.
I couldn't find anything in the service manual
that showed the operation of this control.

Have you turned the adjusting bolt on the draft control or adjusted the bar itself? I think there are slots in that bar where it can be slid in and out.

I just checked the adjusting bolt on the draft
control linkage. The bolt has been turned all the way out and there is only a 1/2" of space to the
stop. The manuals all say that the proper adjustment
using the bolt is 3/4" to 1" I disconnected the
linkage arm to see if I could move the shaft by hand
and it doesn't move. I can get it to move slightly
if I pick up the lower three point arms by hand and lift them as high as they go and rock them up and down.
