Oliver 107 rake setup help

I am getting a rake that I bought last winter to go to the field. I have never used a bar/basket rake before and would like to know what moving the adjuster from the tounge to the top and back of the basket is for. It appears to tilt the basket. I have aded a couple of pictures one from the front and one from the side.

The bar running just under the main frame.

There are 5 or 6 holes to move the aduster to.

That adjustment is for changing the tilt of the basket. Move the adjuster up if you want a loose windrow, and down for a tighter windrow.

You are going to want that all the way up 99% of the time or you will rope up your hay.

I agree with Larry. I have a 107 rake, and even with it all the way up it doesn't make a real fluffy windrow
