550 throttle no change.

Friend has a 550 gas,we cannot get it to change any rpm.basically stays at 1600 may vary down too 1000 but that's it. Linkage moves fine, spring on linkage is their.motor varies on rpm when moving throttlr lever on Carb.took gov apart and don,t see bad bearings,weights move freely,shaft slides freely.my operators manual didn't,t anything on adjusting the governer. New to me on having this type of problem.thanks Steve.

When I got my 550 running the rpms were all over the place. Finally discovered the governer weights had broken loose and were spinning freely on the shaft.They are secured with a tiny spot weld. Just a thought.
