770 clutch shaft and coupler

My dad just bought a 770. It does not have a power booster. I assume the splines on the coupler and shaft were worn so some genius welded the coupler to the shaft and at mid to higher rpm's it vibrates alot. Is the shaft the same as a 77 or 88 as they are more plentiful around here. Otherwise I can get the shaft re-splined and find a good coupler. Will the shaft come out without removing the bell housing?

Going by memory here. But a 770 takes a longer shaft than either the 77 or 88 models. The 770 & 880 tractors use the same front frame. The 770 engine is shorter than the 880 engine so the clutch shaft has to be longer.
