Anybody know where I might find a lift pump for my 550? I ve searched and am not having any luck.
Mine is dumping fuel into the crankcase..
Thanks!

stealer' you can get a new one from Kevin@ 518-522-5014, or a rebuild kit from korves@ 618-939-6681- NOTE: i think all the waukesha diesel lift pumps are the same or wiil work. hope this helps, chuck

Thanks for the reply. I called the number you gave and asked for Kevin,. A lady answered and think she hung up on me? Now won t answer.
Are the rebuild kits fairly easy to do?
Thanks again!

Does your lift pump still have the sediment bowl on it? Like Chuck said you can get an overhaul kit from Korves. I got tired of the sediment bulb leaking on my Super 88 lift pump and put on a new one that was in the 1600 parts book(no sediment bulb).

Thanks! I talked to Kevin. He said he didnt think the 550 diesel came with a lift pump, but the 6 cyl did. Suggested I take it off and let it gravity feed. I m pretty sure my pump is factory though. Either way, he said the lift pumps like that are no longer available.
I guess I ll be trying my hand at a rebuild kit!

Thanks for all your help!!

I don't know what your pump looks like but on my super 55 and on my 550 engine the pumps came apart really easy. Mine didn't leak into the oil but both had one check valve out of place. Make sure to set them in the proper direction and "stake" them to stay in place. Your tractor won't run right without the lift pump. BTDT.

My 550 diesel definitely had one- it started leaking into the crankcase, so I replaced it with an electric fuel pump from NAPA- works fine.

Thanks guys. I ordered the rebuild kit.
I thought about doing away with the mechanical pump and juast using an electric one but I want to keep it as original as possible.
Ive been thinking of selling it to get something a little more parts freindly.
But I LOVE this tractor so much!!!!!!!!1

i just bought an aftermarket pump for mine. be carefull. some wont fit. it looked very generic. the original had a rounded tab on rod that fit nicely on cam. new one had three pieces of metal rivited together. it would not bolt on with sediment bowl attached, so took that off. then pump is a little bigger, so all lines had to be manipulated. finally, the hand prime lever is an inch long and barely works. i dont normally complain, but dont want others wasting 115 bucks like i did. pump ran two hours and is out. gonna replace with electric.
