It has been froze!. We had a few of them in years past. Take the pan off and see if there are cracks in the bottom the block between cylinders 1 & 2, 3 & 4, & 5 & 6. If not use the pinning process and you will be fine. More questions? J.

yep googled it and I think it's done. Motor has 5000hrs on it . I've never heard it run. Think I may part out the engine if I can swipe a 88 engine from my buddy. If not the whole tractor may part out..shame it kill a 3 digit diesel. Has dual hyd. Factory 3pt and power steering. Thanx..

I have used it as well as the IRONTITE pins. Less money invested with the Irontite. If their #327 pins will do it all you need is some drill bits and a 1/8 inch pipe tap .Mjfarms, why not check it out first. Questions post your e-mail J.

I think that's smart. I've got an 880 that cracked like that from being frozen. Had the head checked out and it was supposedly good. Periodically when I start it, I'll get sprayed with wet black gunk so I suspect there is a crack somewhere in the head. Rebuilds cost too much to risk things not being right when you know right off the bat there is a risk of something being cracked.

we have 4 tractors that have had cracked blocks and after cleaning the crack and coating them with jb weld epoxy, we"ve never had any trouble out of any of them.
just because the block is cracked outside doesnt always mean its junk, try to run it first to check for other problems( bubbling in radiator or water in the oil)and go from there

We have a few oliver's (including 770) with freeze
cracks like that that have farmer weld patch jobs
and they don't leak. However you wouldn't want to do
any engine work on a block like that

i've decided the motor is done. Put the radiator in filled with water and pumped it up. Block is leaking, radiator leaking water pump leaking. Going to through a 88 motor in it this weekend. Anyone interested in head, manifolds, injector pump drop me a email before Sunday night. Sunday night parts are going on fleabay. Mjfarms@ roadrunner.com. Parts are in northern ohio.
