Well we put a manual temp gauge on it and it never got above 160 temp with no load. Glad to see this this thing may work out after all! FYI was told by oliver dealer that the new electric gauges don't always work right with positive ground...that is why I decided to go with a manual gauge.

Glad you got it sorted. So never was hot? I said back in April "I suggest you actually measure the water temperature".

It is nearly always better to ask questions first and shoot later, rather than the other way round.

Yeah, was never hot...had no thermostat before and water pump bearing what pretty loose, so it needed almost everything we did to it...so all is good.
