Oliver 550 - Is it a 12 v positive ground elec system?

My old '59 has a positive ground with a generator. I think you can polorize it either way.

My diesel is 12V positive ground. In the back of my mind (which is even less dependable than the front of my mind), I'm thinking the gas versions were 6V positive ground. On second (or third) thought, maybe that was the Super 55's. So many questions. . .

All Oliver tractors with factory generators were POSITIVE ground as were several other brands of tractors including IH & Deere. All Oliver gas tractors had 12 volt electrical system starting in January of 1957 with the Super 55 models and ending later in the spring with the Super 88 models.

The Oliver Super 44's and 440's were built from January 1957 to July 1962, and every one was 6 volt positive ground when the left the factorys.
