I"m swapping the rear end and transmission in a 1850. The original tractor had a two speed pto. The donor has a single speed pto. I"ve only got the long shaft the goes up to the flywheel for the two speed pto. Is it different than the long shaft from the two speed type? It goes in but spacer that goes in after the shaft will not fit. The picture in the I&T manual has a shorter looking spacer. I can"t find the information in the Agco website parts books. Anybody run into this situation before? Thanks in advance for any replies.

The spacer on the dual speeds units are the same. You said 1850, are they both diesels, both gas or one of each? There was a change in the later drive hubs on the diesels if I remember correctly. How about a serial number and a part number for the long shaft.

John, thanks for the reply. Your participation in the forum is greatly appreciated. I checked numbers and the parts I have were/are correct. I did not have the long shaft completely inserted. Some grease on the splines confirmed I was not getting it in far enough. A couple light taps and it went in the last inch or so.
