2-135 sloppy shifter

While I am working on my 2-135, I wondered if I can do something for the sloppy shifting it has. It reads about 6000 hr. and the front H is loose enough that the shifter hits the console and barely engages the front gears. Also, it has not had "park" since I owned it. It looks like I can take out the cab floor and get to some of the linkage. Has anyone else fixed up a 2-135 w/ similar issues?

there are a series of brass bushings that can be replaced on those linkages and will greatly improve that

U'm the sloppy shifter could be a sign of things to come. Our 2-155 had a sloppy shifter and had the console literally bent over. All bushing were OK. The real problem is that the low/high (can't remember) gear is worn on the thrust surface causing lots of travel to engage the gears. We found ours the hard way. The gear welded itself to the input shaft and stalled the engine out. Come to find out this was a problem with these tractors according to Maibach's. We had to cut the input shaft out of the tractor while working thru the floor in the cab. I hope this isn't your case. Park could just be a pin missing in under the floor of the cab. Park is a pawl that engages on the pinion shaft gear. The bolt that holds the pawl may have come loose. FYI for the exhaust manifold. I had a 2-155 exhaust manifold off last spring for another guy. All the studs were shot and not 1 would come out. I ended up drilling out all 12 studs without needing helicoils. Make sure to put sealant on all the studs. They thread into the water jacket in the head. If the slip joint is worn, pay the extra money and replace both manifold sections. Hope any or all helps and sorry for the long post.

bushings, pins, yokes, and one other thing gets overlooked cab mounts, lets the cab settle and throws the linkage off.
