Super 66 diesel

I have the opportunity to buy an pretty much completly restored Super 66 wide front diesel. Problem: the engine is in pieces. Missing head, crank, flywheel, long pto shaft, and oil pan. Question: whats it worth the way it sits and whats it worth running.

Is this an early or late (57 or later) tractor? How good is the injection pump? Talk to Kent Gordon and see what he gets for engine parts. Then are you thinking bearings, crank ground, rods reconned,having seats put in the head, new sleeves & pistons? Will not take long to get $2500 in parts and machine work.

Its a 55. Thats what I kind of figured, i just thought maybe it was rare enough to warrant the investment. Thanks

I have a complete Super 66 block assembly. Crankshaft, camshaft, rods pistons. New cam bearing, blocks been cleaned. This is a gas engine, I believe are the same. If interested E-mail me your phone number and a good time to talk. Thank you Dave.

Maybe: Early gas engines did not have the hardened diesel crank shafts.

I would not give more then 700.00. time you are done with the engine and every thing else that missing you will have the price of a good one that is all ready running.
