i was wondering if 18-27 steel wheels are the same as 80 steel. {rear steel) thanks Steve

No Axle on an 80 is larger. The parts book will tell you that replace steel wheels for an 18-27 are steel wheels for a 70.

John, you know way more than I do, but are you sure about
that? I"m pretty sure I have 80 rear steel on my 18-27. They
fit just fine, part number starts with a C. I"ll have to measure
the axles to be sure.

I put HP 70 cast wheels on my 18-27, but had to use the the cone centers from an 80. That tells me that the 18-27 and the 80 are the same axle. The HP 70 cones, that came with the HP 70 cast centers, would not fit on the 18-27 axle. --- John

There are two different axle sizes for a 80 if I remember right the first two production years have a larger axle diameter then the later years.
