White multi fuel

Nope never done that, but I like the MM 585s they have in them, even though a lot of people cuss them. What's wrong with motor in it?

Well it has two heads with hairline cracks in them. It lets anti freeze leak down in around there making it hard to start. Runs okay after it warms up and the cracks heat up and seal shut. Lots of power just pia to start especially when cold

What I'd do is go to a salvage yard and get two heads, won't be to expensive and it would fix your problem, and keep it all original. How do you like the 585, had any other problems with it? How many hours does it have on it.

Yeah we thought about getting them from a yard, just afraid of putting more money in a tractor this year. We have owned the tractor for about twenty years, used as our sole work horse. Started out with only a few cows now a 40 head dairy and cover 200 acres hay and row crop. Motor is pretty indestructible we estimate 4-5000 hours on it. Only time we worked on it was when the rear oil seal started leaking and the clutch burned up. Split the tractor changed the clutch ground the valves and discovered the cracks. Also the fuel pump had to be rebuilt It's always been hard to start especially when below 50 degrees. Always has leaked also but since changing the gasket the leaks have diminished. Ours is non turbo'ed does yours have a turbo? What are your thoughts on it? I really love the tractor and plan to keep it running strong long into the future, it's a tank, and I just love it.

No turbo, however someday I will turbocharge a 585, it won't hurt it like others say it will, plenty of people have done it, as long as they have the external oil pump there good, which all 2-150s did, hope you get it fixed, but I'd keep it original, and go to a salvage yard. Post pictures when you get it tore down if you would.

When you ground the valves, did you set the valves to the correct recession? Makes a big difference on starting. Can you "pin" the cracks?
